PLOT

This movie is based on a real life story of 6 young people who plan a trek to a forest near Mysore for a day. It begins with the narration of Prakash, one of the six youths. Being a cinematography enthusiast, Ramesh, again one among the youths purchases a new camera to cover their journey. His co-trekkers include Kumar, Prakash, Naveen, Sowmya, and Deepa. They register their names with the security officials and begin their journey. Soon later, they set up a camp and begin to look for things for their survival. Here is where the horror starts. They start experiencing unusual events. Each and every person of the gang witnesses some strange occurrence which drives them almost crazy. Their plan of returning within a day demolishes. Right now, they are stuck up in a place where there’s not a minute possibility of help. So, with the strange events unfolding and their fatigues increasing, what happens to these innocent trekkers? What is the cause of all these events? Do all of them return home safely? Watch the movie to find out.

STAR PERFORMANCES

The one frank thing about this movie is that we don’t neither know about the cast nor the crew. A brilliant effort by the director to make this movie look realistic. However, the performance of the cast could only be said to be above average. It was not disappointing but neither appreciable. The very essential expressions showing that they are scared to some events lacks in their faces. This in fact makes us question the reality. Certain expressions look completely fake.

POSITIVES

This movie is a treat for horror fans, especially Kannada horror fans. The audience is glued to the story from the beginning itself. The cinematography is excellent. The set is captured in such a way that it provides the much-required thrills. Art direction is also brilliant. The scary CGI has achieved its purpose. Moreover, the most important thing in a horror movie - the background score. It fully serves it purpose. The music alone scares the shit out of the audience even if the close their eyes. Overall, it was a fantastic effort by the crew.

NEGATIVES

There is seriously no big negative in this movie. The only place where it could have been better is the screenplay. It loses the attention sometimes, but otherwise, it was a perfect flick.

VERDICT

This is surely one of the best horror movies in the Indian industry. The Kannada people can be proud of this. There’s no major flaw in any department, and there’s no flaw at all in certain departments like cinematography, visual effects, etc. This is one of those movies which sends chills down our spines at very regular intervals. Add this one to your to-watch list. Otherwise, you are seriously missing out a good piece.
